Therapy Sessions

I bring respect and sensitivity to my work, acknowledging how life experiences shape our daily lives in deeply personal ways.

Understanding Yourself

As an integrative therapist working from a body-centred orientation, I bring a down-to-earth, collaborative attitude to our sessions. My approach is relational, focusing on process of what's happening here and now between us.

Together, we explore the movements of emotions, feelings, and the language you use to describe your experiences by noticing different parts of yourself. Your relationship to your sense of self and with others are intertwined, I hold curiosity about the implicit layers of your life and how you move through the world in relation to yourself and others.

Our work might include exploring how specific life events show up in the present moment - how your body responded then and how it responds now. This implicit embodied awareness can reveal patterns and open possibilities for change.

I work from an affirmative perspective and welcome people who identify within minority groups or who experience difference and otherness. Creating space where all parts of you belong is central to my practice.

Autobiographical Material & Creativity

I worked nationally and internationally in the arts for over 15 years as an artist, producer and consultant mostly in theatre, dance and and live art. I have extensive experience of working with disabled-led companies and artists.  Now my artistic lived experience informs my therapy work with artists, creatives and those who work alongside individuals and companies.

It’s difficult to feel artistically empowered without support.

Working with autobiographical material in the making process can shake lived experiences and past wounds. When this happens it is important to have support so that you feel held and empowered to move through personal and artistic challenges authentically.

As a therapist with lived understanding I can:

  • Be in the studio to support the wellbeing of artists during the creation period

  • Support therapeutically when sensitive or traumatic personal material becomes present in the creation of the work.

  • Hold the space for artists while exploring autobiographical stories in making of work.

  • Have regular sessions with artists, producers and creative team to minimise re-traumatisation and support when it does.

  • Hold and facilitate spaces and groups of audience members to explore themes in the work.

  • "Just want to say thank you so much. I gained a lot from my sessions, life feels a bit lighter, not as much like that messy ball of string. Your steadiness and understanding when it was hard will stay with me. "
