Therapy Sessions
“Life feels a bit lighter, not as much like that messy ball of string.”
Becoming less of a surprise to yourself
As an integrative talking therapist working from a body-centred orientation, I bring a down-to-earth, collaborative attitude to sessions. My approach is relational working with what feels important to you.
Therapy is a space to feel, think and talk about the layers of life and how you move through the world in relation to yourself and others as these relationships are interwoven.
Working somatically our work might include exploring how specific life events show up in the present moment - how your body responded then and how it responds now. This embodied awareness of exploring feelings with emotions and words can reveal patterns and open possibilities for change.
An important part of my work is with clients who are navigating passing within their identities. I warmly welcome people who identify within minority groups or who experience difference and otherness; ableism, disablism, LGBTQIA+, race, cultural and historical sensitivities.
I bring respect and sensitivity to my work, acknowledging how life experiences shape our daily lives in deeply personal ways.

Autobiographical Artistic Process
I worked nationally and internationally in the arts for 16 years as an artist, producer and consultant mostly in theatre, dance and and live art. I have extensive experience of working with inclusive and disabled-led companies, and artists who subvert the norm. Now my artistic lived experience informs my therapy work with artists, creatives and those who work alongside individuals and companies.
It’s difficult to feel artistically empowered without support.
Working with autobiographical material in the making process or in the everyday can shake lived experiences and past wounds. When this happens it is important to have support so that you feel held and empowered to move through personal and artistic challenges authentically.
My interest in working with artists includes mapping the movement of autobiographical material somatically and how creative narratives shape the development of work. I work with people to explore the experiences of working in the arts and the influences this has on their emotional and relational sense of who they are.
I work creatively online and open to talking through access needs to make therapy work. See my booking information, experience and qualifications above.
As a therapist with lived understanding I can:
Meet weekly online for regular therapy appointments
Be in the studio or on site to support the wellbeing of artists during the creation period
Support therapeutically when sensitive or traumatic personal material becomes present in the creation of the work.
Hold the space for artists while exploring autobiographical stories in making of work.
Have regular sessions with artists, producers and creative teams to minimise re-traumatisation and support when it does.
Hold and facilitate spaces for audience members to explore themes in the work.
